The start and finish for both races is on Nichols Road near Winnequah Park and the Monona Pool in Monona, WI.

The 20 KM Run will take you around Lake Monona clockwise, on winding residential streets and paved bike paths close to the scenic shore of this beautiful lake, with moderately rolling hills. The 5 KM mark comes shortly after you enter Waunona Way. A spectacular state capitol skyline beckons as you cross Lake Monona on the causeway towards the 10 km mark. You descend into Olbrich park shortly after the 15 km mark, then it’s a last descent and less than 1/4 mile to the finish.

The 5 KM Run/Walk will start the same way as the 20 KM Run and follow the first mile of the 20 KM route. The 5 KM course will loop past Winnequah Park and join the last mile or so of the 20 KM course and continue to the finish.

Aid Stations

On the 20 KM Run course, aid stations will be spaced nearly every 2.5 miles. On the 5 KM Run/Walk course, there will be one aid station about half way. Aid stations will be stocked with water, Gatorade sports drink and energy gels. Port-a-potties will be available at aid stations.

TIMING CHIP: We use disposable chips worn on the back of your race bib. There are no chips to pick up or return and nothing to tie on your shoe.

RACE SPLITS: There will be timing mats on the course every 5 KM. All finish times will be recorded until the finish line closes 3 hours after the start. Digital clocks will be present at the 10 km mark and finish.
